Desiree
I was always a "cat person" until I adopted my first Boston Macie in 2010. I work full time as a mental health counselor, specializing in child mental health and attachment/trauma issues with children and families. I joke that my specialty is "naughty kids". Ironically, the treatment I do with children is extremely similar to training a dog! I have two children, ages 12 and 16 who socialize with the puppies daily. My family and I like to camp, take the children on adventures, and spend time together.
Steve
Steve is a retired teacher and lives in Harper's Ferry, Iowa where he gets to fish every day when the weather is good. He co-owns our Dam Sadie and raises her puppies in his home. Steve currently owns an apiary and sells honey every week at the local Farmer's Market. He is also the local Chaplin at the American Legion. Steve has past experience with owning, showing, and breeding AKC Cocker Spaniels in the early 1980's.

Painted Tuxedo Bostons is family-owned and operated in Iowa. We are not your typical breeder, kennel, or "backyard breeder"! Started by Desiree in 2012, our first breeding dogs were Diesel and Landry (now retired). Desiree's father Steve decided to get into business by adopting Bella in 2014. Now, Desiree owns Charlie, Lumen Blu, and Fiona in Cedar Falls and Steve owns Sadie in Harper's Ferry, Iowa. This allows us to give each dog a loving home as pets first, and hand raise each puppy in our homes. Also for this reason, we only have a few litters each year and we are able to devote a lot of time to each puppy's care, nurture, and health.
